FAQ

Questions people ask

Is Amtrak worth it?

On corridors under roughly 400 miles between two city centers, yes: total door-to-door time is competitive and you skip parking entirely. On long-haul routes it is better understood as a scenic experience than a time saver.

Is the train cheaper than driving?

For one or two travelers, usually yes once downtown parking is counted. For four travelers sharing one car, driving is almost always cheaper.
